The Big Picture – Families
This family tour is for big and small nature lovers who want a fun, learning journey with plenty of interaction.
We’ll look at the work of the big, wandering wildlife: the inquisitive Red Poll cows, wandering Exmoor ponies, as well as the sisterhood of Tamworth pigs rootling, creating bare earth for sapling trees to grow.
We’ll also get down close to the ground and dig for earthworms to see what a great job they do for our soil. We’ll look for minibeasts, check out what beaver teeth can do to a tree, see who likes to live under the bark of dead trees and decide whether gorse flowers smells like coconut. Spades welcome.
