The Team

Dom founded and now manages the Wild Ken Hill project with Estate Director Nick Padwick. Dom established the rewilding component of the project, including bringing back Beavers to Norfolk. At the moment, Dom is working to bring White-tailed Eagles back to Eastern England, managing our tourism business, and exploring ways to demonstrate the benefits our approach to the climate and environment. Dom also leads Wild Ken Hill’s external engagements, speaking at events, to journalists and working with other organisations to explore new rewilding projects.

Nick is the Estate Director at Wild Ken Hill. Nick helped to set up the Wild Ken Hill project in late 2018, and he now manages the day-to-day running of the project. Nick is also one of the country's leading regenerative farmers, and is committed to transforming farming to take better care of the environment, particularly looking after soils and providing great habitat for wildlife on farmland. In the two years, Nick has organised the works to restore our freshwater marshes, managed the work to rewild our woodland, and implemented a variety of new and innovative farming techniques.

I’ve worked in outdoor education for many years and now run educational visits for schools and groups at Wild Ken Hill as well as WILDlings Forest School and adventure parties. I enjoy providing hands-on learning, exploring the countryside and showing the children about the food we grow and about the wildlife, their habitats and the important roles they play. I believe children should be given the freedom to explore, play and be creative in a natural setting to help them understand and appreciate themselves and world around them.

I feel extremely fortunate to have been involved in Wild Ken Hill since its inception and to have helped with its implementation, including the return of the beavers in Spring 2020. My motivation is not just to conserve but to help restore ecosystems and soil health by maximising natural processes and allowing nature to thrive, thereby reversing the declines in biodiversity I have witnessed during my lifetime. I believe that the reintroduction of missing native species, where appropriate, can greatly assist in this process.

Kathryn is interested in the intersection of the natural world with the arts, from writing to theatre and performance. Being involved with Wild Ken Hill is a great way to explore ways in which space, in particular landscape, can enhance performance. As the project grows, I hope to develop ways in which Wild Ken Hill might host site-specific performance and cultural activity.

I’ve spent my career to date helping a number of farms and other businesses with their finances and accounts, including working with the team at Ken Hill for a number of years. It’s great now to be working on the next stage of their journey with the Wild Ken Hill project, and helping to realise all of the associated positive benefits.
